Summer Exhibition Capellagården 2025
“Although the wind blows terribly here” is a series of vessels made from wild clay, dug near Capellagården on Öland. Unglazed and softly shaped, they carry the traces of their making—fingerprints, cracks— the memory of the ground. Inspired by a poem by Izumi Shikibu, they embrace fragility and simplicity as quiet openings to insight. Unconcerned with perfection, they stand with warmth and honesty—raw and grounded.
“Although the wind …”
Although the wind
blows terribly here,
the moonlight also leaks
between the roof planks
of this ruined house.
– Izumi Shikibu
